The Husker baseball team improved to 10-2 with NU newcomer Aaron Pribanic twirling a five hit shutout to complete a four game sweep of Northern Colorado. Pribanic threw 101 pitches in the victory and solidified his rotation spot before the start of Big 12 play this weekend at Kansas State.
"Pribanic, a 6-foot-4 right-hander from Plano, Texas, dominated Northern Colorado to the tune of seven strikeouts and no walks before a crowd of 1,152.
The junior by way of Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College tossed a complete game over seven innings in his only other NU start, March 2 against UC Riverside, and owns a 0.86 ERA to go with his 2-0 record over 182/3 innings this season.
"He's throwing 92 to 95 (mph) and locating his breaking pitches," Nebraska coach Mike Anderson said. "I don't think anybody wants a piece of that."
The NU squad is on a nine game win streak, its longest in nearly two years, and faces South Dakota State this afternoon at Haymarket Park.
